Biography
Adam Fuhrman was appointed to Oakland Community Health Network's Board in 2013. He is currently a Peer Mentor for Macomb-Oakland Regional Center, Inc (MORC) where he is responsible for developing and coordinating Peer Mentor programs, serving as a certified Supports Intensity Scale interviewer and trainer, as well as a trainer for the Oakland County Peer Mentor Training Program.
Mr. Fuhrman received his Michigan Provisional Teaching Certification from Oakland University in 2004. He then moved on to receive a Master of Arts in Counseling with an emphasis on community counseling in 2007.
As a volunteer counselor for Faith Lutheran Church, Mr. Fuhrman has experience working with diverse client backgrounds and concerns. He also has an understanding of using professional communication and empathetic listening to encourage member participation.
In the past, Mr. Fuhrman has served as an Alternate Member of the Advisory Committee for Persons with Disabilities in Troy, Michigan, and was a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. Additionally, he is currently a member of the Oakland University Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, History Honor Society.
As an Oakland Community Health Network (OCHN) Board Member, Fuhrman brings an understanding of working with diverse client backgrounds and concerns and provides genuine, empathetic, and professional feedback.
