BiographyBernard Hooper

Mr. Hooper oversees the development and implementation of OCHN’s compliance policies and procedures. This includes reporting matters of ethics and accountability to the CEO and OCHN’s Board of Directors. His certification in healthcare compliance and experience in executive leadership and policy are essential in this role.  

He also leads the development and implementation of the OCHN DEI Strategic Plan. This includes developing, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting key performance indicators regarding programmatic approach, internal and external DEI metrics, and organizational culture and practices.   

As the previous Corporate Compliance Officer at Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN), Hooper led the achievement of a three-year recertification from the National Committee of Quality Assurance (NCQA). His knowledge of NCQA guidelines will help to ensure the measurement, transparency and accountability of OCHN’s policies and procedures, ensuring quality service outcomes for people.   

In addition, Hooper’s skills and experience in community service over the past 20 years promote the implementation of action plans for future resolutions related to legal and ethical issues.   

Mr. Hooper earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University, as well as a master’s in applied economics and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan, where he also received a certificate of excellence in health law. Hooper also serves on the Farmington Hills Commission on Community Health.
